This was a beautiful garden in Chesterfield that needed Japanese knotweed to be removed. We carried out the removal of Japanese Knotweed in Chesterfield for this client who never knew what the plant was, only that she liked it, and it had grown in a corner of her garden causing no problems for over 20 years.
Japanese knotweed is an attractive plant with green stems that are speckled with purple, large heart-shaped leaves and lovely flowers in late summer, early autumn. What is more, the flowers are high in pollen meaning they are a great food source for insects late in the season. This invasive plant was originally brought into the UK, for these great qualities, by the Victorians for being an ornamental plant. It was brought to the UK not knowing how invasive and destructive it could be.
A friend had identified the Japanese Knotweed and after much trawling through the internet she found us. She wanted a company “she could trust” apparently our ISO accreditation, testimonials and that we are a member of the PCA qualified us. What she was particularly pleased with is that we answered the phone promptly (within two rings) and this assured her that we look after her.
The removal of Japanese knotweed in Chesterfield, for this customer, was quite simple as we decided we would spray and inject it over three years. The application of the herbicide generally takes the first year during the growing season. Once the treatment has been completed and has been effective in eradicating it, the remaining two years have inspections of the site carried out. These inspections ensure no regrowth. This was the most cost-effective method and the client was delighted we could sort it for her. She was also pleased to know that it would not affect the value of her property.
