We find that herbicide treatment is the most common method of treatment and is the most cost effective. It can take up to four years to compete the treatment process but is effective in eradication of Japanese Knotweed in Blackheath.
A systemic translocating herbicide can be applied either by spraying or injection. A combination of injection and spraying can also be used. Spraying is generally used to apply the herbicide; however, injection is used when applying the herbicide close to water courses/sources or other vegetation that does not need to be eradicated.
